KenM@MichelLtd.comKenneth Michel has over 40 years of direct experience in the affordable housing industry with an emphasis on federal and state housing finance programs. He began his career in 1977 at Greater Boston Development, Inc. (now Boston Capital Partners), in their Syndication Department specializing in the structuring, monitoring, and equity financing of Rural Development (RD) Section 515 Rural Rental Housing Program (formerly FmHA Section 515) low-income properties. In 1981, he joined The Langelier Company, Inc., where he was head of the Acquisitions Department, focusing on the acquisition of affordable housing properties featuring HUD or state agency financing and HUD Section 8 rental subsidies. In 1986, he founded Michel Associates, Ltd., which has successfully sponsored a series of Tax Credit investment partnerships for high net-worth individuals, financial institutions, and corporations. Mr. Michel has successfully underwritten and syndicated apartment complexes ranging in size from 6 to 694 units with a total capitalization more than $1.5 billion.
Mr. Michel has been involved in the equity financing of over 300 real estate limited partnerships involving new construction, non-historic and historic rehabilitations of government assisted affordable housing properties. He has acted as sponsor, general partner, or special limited partner in 53 such partnerships since 1982.
Mr. Michel currently holds an ownership interest as a limited or general partner in over 12,000 affordable housing apartment units in various locations throughout the United States.
Mr. Michel received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Stonehill College in 1968 and a Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School in 1974. He has served as a Director of the Council for Affordable and Rural Housing (CARH), a national advocacy group based in Washington, DC representing the interests of developers, owners and managers of rural housing. He also served as Chairman of the Stonehill College Annual Fund and the Stonehill College Board of Fellows and is a member of the Stonehill Basketball Hall of Fame, and a former Corporator of Danversbank.

Mr. Monteiro’s areas of expertise are investor communications, partnership accounting, partnership asset management, and disposition of partnership assets. Prior to joining Michel Associates in 1991, Mr. Monteiro was a Portfolio Manager/Investor Relations Specialist at a national affordable housing syndication firm where he was responsible for servicing 25 Limited Partnerships with over 1,000 investors.
Mr. Monteiro is a 1979 graduate of Salem State College and received a Masters of Business Administration from Suffolk University in 1991.

BrianM@MichelLtd.comBrian’s experience in construction prior to joining Michel Associates, Ltd. in 2002 made his transition to asset management seamless. His familiarity with developers and site managers allowed him to quickly build relationships resulting in successful partnerships throughout our properties’ life cycles. Since being hired as an Asset Manager, Brian has been promoted to Senior Asset Manager, Vice President of Asset Manager and is currently our Disposition Specialist. He has facilitated over 165 dispositions with total gross proceeds of $262 million that returned over $41 million to our Limited Partners.

At Michel Associates, she is responsible for all aspects of financial, operating, tax, and due diligence analyses, as well as Operating Partnership and Investment Partnership accounting issues. She has been involved in the analysis, underwriting, and structuring of over 200 government-assisted properties representing over $450 million of capitalization. Additionally, she has analyzed and structured approximately $250 million of conventional multi-family investments. Prior to joining Michel Associates in 1991, Ms. Sheehy was Vice President of Financial Analysis for a national affordable housing syndication firm.
Ms. Sheehy is a graduate of Emmanuel College where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics.

ArleneC@MichelLtd.comArlene joined Michel Associates in February 2006 after 23 years in commercial banking operations and administration. She currently manages 65 properties and is responsible for Asset Management financial and insurance reporting and tracking as well as project management which includes the company’s database.
Ms. Curley received a BS degree from The University of Connecticut and taught elementary school for 15 years prior to her career change.

JonitaW@MichelLtd.comJonita has a year of experience in the affordable housing industry, and over 5 years of experience in accounting, finance and consulting. As Staff Accountant, she is responsible for many aspects of the day-to-day accounting and financial reporting for Michel Associates and the LIHTC funds. These responsibilities include but are not limited to preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, ensuring all transactions are entered and maintained, producing billing statements from operating partnerships, performing accounts receivable/payable tasks. Jonita is also responsible for preparing monthly financial reports including prepaid expense analysis, cash reconciliations and periodic roll-forward of fund working capital reserves, fee collection reports and capitalized cost analyses. Jonita works closely with the Asset Management department and responds to all requests for fund reporting to support Asset Management activities.
Before joining Michel Associates, Ms. Weeks worked in the commercial real estate industry at DTZ – now Cushman & Wakefield – as a billing specialist for almost two years, where she worked with multiple client accounts analyzing large amounts of data, creating/generating invoices for both in-house and for clients, and reconciling billing accounts with accounts receivable to verify proper payments and postings.
Ms. Weeks has a Bachlor’s of Science in Business Administration with a major in accounting from the University of Hartford and a Master’s of Science in Accountancy from Suffolk University.

SusanC@MichelLtd.comSusan Colella has over 2 years of experience in the affordable housing industry and over 10 years of experience in accounting, finance and consulting. Susan started at Michel Associates in 2013 as Fund Accountant, responsible for all aspects of day-to-day accounting and reporting for the Funds. In 2015, she was promoted to Accounting Manager. In this role, she learned all aspects of accounting and reporting for Michel Associates and began taking a supervisory role over the Staff Accountant. Susan is responsible for guiding the Staff Accountant in day-to-day accounting activities, reviewing all monthly bank, prepaid and account receivable reconciliations and internally prepared financial statements. Susan works closely with the outside accountants to coordinate annual audit & tax return preparation and reviews all draft reports. She is responsible for maintaining the fixed asset ledger and associated reconciliation, preparing the monthly analysis of accounts receivable including bad debts and net present value of long-term receivables, and performing other financial analysis reports and projects as required.
Before joining Michel Associates, Susan worked in public accounting for 5 years, auditing and preparing tax returns for hedge funds and partnerships. Susan has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Merrimack College and a Master of Science in Accounting from Southern New Hampshire University.

Casey Banks joined Michel Associates Ltd. in 2024, bringing a background in client relations, fundraising, and financial administration. Prior to joining the firm, she led member relations and fundraising initiatives for a nonprofit museum and managed operations within the hospitality industry. In her current role, Casey oversees project and data management, supporting the firm’s operational efficiency and accuracy across departments. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts and Art History from Emmanuel College.
